For all of you who love to cook and eat, here is a chocolate cake recipe, but shaped like the most famous mouse! Enjoy your cake!
To make this cake in the shape of Mickey, here are the ustensils you’ll need:
- 1 baking tin, 20 cm in diameter
- 1 baking tin, 10 cm in diameter (or larger, and you’ll cut the cake once it’s cooled down)
- red sprinkles
- chocolate sprinkles
- 1 little piece of yellow sugar paste (or a little quantity of almond paste with some yellow food colouring)
- Biscuits, like Fingers
Here is the chocolate cake recipe I chose. However, the dessert can be prepared with other types of cakes, even puddings.
- 300 gr of chocolate
- 1,5 cup of sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- 1 cup of flour
- ½ cup of sunflower oil
(By cup, we mean a medium-sized cup with a capacity of approximately 200 ml.)
To be sure you have enough dough to cook 2 ears and a head, you will have to make 1 and a half times the recipe.
Melt the chocolate with the oil, milk and sugar. When the mixture is smooth, put a small coffee cup aside to coat the cake.
Add the eggs, the flour and the baking powder.
Pour the preparation into the buttered and floured tins and bake them for about 30 minutes at 180 °C. Do the same in the 10 cm mould for the second ear.
Once cooled, remove the cakes from the tins, trim the ears so that they remain proportional to the size of the head and coat them with the chocolate mixture that you have put aside earlier, then decorate.
Place the 3 cakes to create a Mickey’s head shape.
Use a sheet of paper to hide the upper two thirds of the cake. Cover the lower third with the red sprinkles.
Then, hide the lower part of the cake, and pour the chocolate sprinkles on the upper part of the head and the ears. Finally, press the Fingers biscuits around the cakes (you can apply a thin layer of chocolate spread to make them stick to the cake).
Cut two oval shapes in the yellow sugar paste, and place them on top of the cake. Here you are ! Bon appétit !
