• Jasmine is one of the main characters in the film Aladdin, released on November 11, 1992 in the United States (November 24, 1993 in France).
• Aladdin is the 40th animated feature film and the 31st animated classic from Disney Studios.

• The film was produced by Walt Disney Pictures.
• John Musker and Ron Clements directed the film.
• The music was composed by Alan Menken.
• The character animation was done by Mark Henn.
• The story is loosely based on the traditional 18th century Arab-Persian tale Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, but also on the 1940 film The Thief of Baghdad.
• The character is based on Princess Badroulboudour from Aladdin and the Wonder Lamp. American actress Jennifer Connelly also lent her features to the appearance of Jasmine, as well as Beth Henn who is the sister of Mark Henn (the animator responsible for the character).
• American actress and producer Linda Larkin lends her voice in the original version. In France, it is Magali Barney (voice) and Karine Costa (vocals).
• Jasmine wears 5 outfits during the film: She mostly wears her turquoise blue outfit composed of baggy trousers and a top that leaves her arms and stomach bare, accompanied by gold jewellery (earrings and necklace) and a blue headband with a sapphire. She is also seen in a brown beggar’s outfit as she escapes from the palace. In a lilac outfit to announce her engagement, then in red when she is Jafar’s prisoner. Finally, she dons a dark blue outfit to fly away with Aladdin in the final scene.
• Jasmine is a beautiful young woman who feels cramped within the walls of her father’s palace. She wants to be more independent. Determined, she does not give up when it comes to breaking the law and does not hesitate to follow her heart.
