Make shortbread biscuits from Space

Today we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Space Mountain ride! On this occasion we wanted to concoct little shortbread biscuits with the effigy of one of the most iconic rides of Disneyland Paris!

First of all, to make this FOOLPROOF shortbread recipe, you will need:

  • 125g caster sugar
  • 250g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 125 soften butter
  • 1 pinch of salt

In a bowl, mix the sugar, salt and egg together, you will need to get a homogenous mixture. Then add the flour: the dough will start to be more crumbly, sand-like.

Add the butter and rub with your fingers until you get a dough that’s ready to use! If the dough sticks to your fingers, just add a bit of flour.

Spread some flour on your work surface so the cut out shapes can  be removed more easily, then flatten a small ball of dough with a rolling pin, until the dough is just under 1cm thick (it’s the thickness that will give the soft texture to your biscuits!).

Now you need to cut your shapes with cookie cutters of various patterns; there are many available on the internet or in stores with all our Disney heroes! I

Because I have a 3D printer I created a Space Mountain cookie cutter myself to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ride!

Place your shapes on your oven tray covered with baking paper, and bake in a pre-heated over at 150 °C for about 10 minutes (adjust the time depending on your oven and whether you like your biscuits more or less golden).

Great lover of the Disney universe, I live my passion throughout the year since I work listening to ED92radio and I go to Disneyland Paris several times a year. I also had the chance to visit American Disney parks and to go on vacation with Mickey several times on board the Disney Cruise Line boats. So it was only natural that I wanted to join the ED92 team as a blog editor in February 2020, to share with you my experience and my passion for this magical universe.
