Magic news : Make way for the Christmas season!

The ghosts of Halloween have ceased haunting the park, and already the magic of Christmas is starting to take their place, set to shine all the brighter from 13 November.

From Main Street U.S.A. to the resort hotels, via the shop windows… The Christmas season promises to be spectacular!

To reward your patience, Disney unveiled its new TV spot on 3 November:

What’s on the menu?

While you await the return of the Christmas menus, you can enjoy the buffets as of 20 October. But have you had the opportunity to discover the Downtown Restaurant in buffet mode? Here is a little selection of the dishes on offer, for you to enjoy.

From 13 November 2021 to 20 March 2022, see you at Walt Disney Studios Park for the grand return of l’Hiver Gourmand! 7 chalets will be waiting for you this year:

  • Les Douceurs d’Hiver
  • Goûts & Saveurs des Montagnes
  • Les Recettes de la Cigone
  • La Bigoudène Gourmande
  • Les Saveurs de Saison
  • Vegan Kitchen
  • The Winter Twist

You need them!

Mickey and his glittering Christmas parade will soon dazzle Disneyland Paris with their magical lights!

On this occasion, the Merchandising teams have worked in collaboration with the Shows team to offer exclusive collections.

From their synergy comes a reproduction of the lead float of the parade, “On the way to the holidays with Mickey”.

This 32cm long resin decoration is based on the original concept of the float. It has been adapted to the constraints of scale involved in creating a miniature reproduction. Are you already on the starting block for your Christmas decoration? Patience, it will be available in December for 159 € and other wonders will undoubtedly complete the offer of the shops…

In addition, a series of pins featuring each of the parade’s floats and some of its iconic characters has also been developed.

This collection is a limited edition of 500 copies (€16 each). They are scheduled for release on 13 November (details to come on the November 2021 Pin Trading poster).

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary, a new Pandora Beauty and the Beast jewellery collection has just appeared on the brand’s site.

And as Christmas is not so far away, some of the Disney X Pandora collection.

A The Lion King corner takes pride of place at the World of Disney store.

The price of shopping bags increases on 5 November:

Other news from the parks

The Halloweensoirée d’Halloween which took place on 31 October until 2am. Disney Villains, parades, shows, sound and light, dancefloor, attractions, pumpkins and mischievous ghosts: all the ingredients were there to “skeletonize” the return of this “deadly” evening!

However, two black spots tarnished this promising picture: the Disney parks were fully booked for the weekend as well as for Halloween night. Travelling between the lands during the evening proved to be very complicated, even dangerous. The queues for the characters were also full before the start of the evening (8pm) and there were huge waits at the attractions (for example more than 90 minutes for Phantom Manor).

Explore our critique of the soirée here.

And then we saw this…

What has happened to the witch from Snow White?! This grotesque mask is not a good replacement for the old make-up for the previous version of the character…

The road to the park’s 30th anniversary continues: Disneyland Paris Cast Members are currently invited to choose between two versions of the nametag they will wear next year.

And speaking of the 30th anniversary… They will undoubtedly have consequences… Starting with the Annual Passes: on Thursday 4 November, Disneyland Paris deliberately increased the prices of its Annual Passes:

  • Infinity goes up to 479 € (30 € increase) ;
  • Magic Plus goes up to 329 € (30 € increase) ;
  • Magic Flex goes up to 299 € (40 € increase) ;
  • Discovery goes up to 209 € (30 € increase).

The destination has chosen to increase its rates while the show offer has not yet returned to its normal level, unlike other European parks.

A new range of Annual Passes should arrive in 2022. Let’s hope there won’t be too many nasty surprises…

To complement the new Annual Pass tariffs, there is also more notable information:

  • VIP zones do not return until further notice (Infinity) ;
  • Swimming pool access does not return until further notice (Infinity) ;
  • No change at this time to the pricing of Privilege Tickets* ;

The conditions are valid until 31 mars 2022. The new range could therefore be launched by 1 April 2022 (and that’s not an April Fool).

*Infinity : 37€ low season and 52€ peak season.
Magic Plus : 42€ low season and 57€ peak season.

Come on, let’s not drag ourselves down, there’s good news too: the Facebook group Pass Annuel Disneyland Paris (Français) has announced the return of Annual Pass soirées in early 2022 and beyond!

Crédit : Groupe pass annuels disneyland paris

Pssttt! The reservations for Privilege Tickets are open until 18 January, but be warned, certain dates are going very fast!

Due to the return of the Disney Feux Magiques on the 2 and 4 November, Fantasyland and some attractions in Adventureland have closed from 7 pm until 9 pm.

This early closure will also take place one last time, on 9 November.

The pre-show of the attraction The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ has returned and it was much-missed! Enjoy your journey to the 4th dimension…

The Scream Monitors in the Walt Disney Studios Park are newly reopened, and the FastPass turnstiles on the attraction Les Tapis Volants – Flying Carpets Over Agrabah have been retired.

 More good news: masks are no longer required for children under 11 in Disney parks.

The Disney’s Newport Bay Club has revealed its new logo!

Disney en Concert – Magical Music from the Movies debuted on 29 October, commencing at the Dôme de Paris – Palais des Sports.

80 musicians and 6 singers* share the most beautiful Disney songs for a magical evening!

And we have been informed that in 2022, Pixar En Concert will launch its first series of concerts…

*Cerise Calixte: the official French voice of Moana, Charlotte Hervieux: the official French voice of Elsa, Emily Pello and Judith Derouin (singers), Yoni Amar and Dan Menasche (singers).

A few days ago, Disney’s Newport Bay Club hosted a welcome day for the alternates. The Ambassadors Carmen Lleó Badal and Quentin Rodrigues, who succeed Giona Prevete as well as tutors, were present to discuss the coming year around several topics.

A welcome speech by Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris, workshops, presentations, round tables, feedback… the day’s programme was packed.

As you might have seen, over the past few days, an old petition demanding calling for Bob Chapek‘s dismissal has set the Disney fandom alight.

It seems that the torch is burning between the company’s most loyal customers and its CEO: Bob Chapek. It must be said that for some time now, he has been accumulating divisive decisions: the Scarlett Johansson affair, scandals with the Annual Passes at Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris as well as a more than slugging rollout of Genie at Walt Disney World, many people now consider that Robert Iger ‘s only major failure was his choice of successor.

You can find the petition here.

Disneyland Resort – California | U.S.A. :

Park Ambassador Justin Rapp recently surprised some Cast Members with these badges to thank them for all their hard work and dedication to reopening the resort. For many Cast Members, this badge symbolizes a new and hopeful chapter in the history of the destination.

Walt Disney World – Florida | U.S.A. :

The park’s 50th anniversary celebrations continue. Walt Disney World officially welcomed the first guests to Magic Kingdom on 1 October 1971. However, it was only a few weeks later, on October 25 – 50 years ago –Walt Disney‘s older brother, Roy O. Disney, officially opened the complex, giving this speech with Mickey by his side:

“May Walt Disney World bring joy and inspiration and New Knowledge to all who come to this happy place … a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn – together.”

Roy Oliver Disney

When you walk down Main Street today at Walt Disney World, you can see Roy’s name prominently displayed on the front of Main Street Confectionary, and the “Sharing the Magic” statue also honouring him in front of City Hall. If you pay attention, you’ll see that Roy is holding Minnie’s hand from underneath, a nod to the way he supported his brother throughout their history together.

The Electrical Water Pageant nighttime show on Walt Disney World’s Seven Seas Lagoon also got into the destination’s 50th anniversary colours with an appearance by the castle!

This show was born when Bob Jani, vice president of Disney Live Entertainment at the time, fantasized about what he could do with this expanse of black sky over Bay Lake, which had no skyline or city lights due to the size and remoteness of the new construction.

The show has since been updated several times and now incorporates the castle and the anthem “The Magic is Calling”.

I’ve been finding excuses to research anything Disney for as long as I can remember. And a Fantasyland girl whose favourite park music is Grim Grinning Ghosts - because even the spooky things are delightful in DLP. Disneyland Paris has a magic all of its own. I want to help other fans find that Disney feeling, whether it’s little things to make your day go smoothly or details that’ll make it sparkle.
